William C Towns

Wales-William C. Towns, 91, died Friday, December 11, 2015, surrounded by the love of family.  William was born in Worcester, MA, September 27, 1924 to the late Chandler M. and Edith E. (Perron) Towns.  Bill served in the US Air Force during WWII.  He was a Supervisor and Draftsman at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks, Ct and retired after 35 years.  He has been a resident of Wales since 1955, the Chairman of the Wales Cemetery Commission since 1968, retired from the Wales Fire Department after 30 years as the Assistant Chief, was active with the Wales council on Aging, Wales Senior Center, Wales School Committee and was on the Wales Cable advisory board.

Bill was predeceased by his wife Earline R. (St.George) Towns in 1999 and a son David B. Towns in 1983.  He leaves his children; William C. Towns and his wife Barbara of Wilbraham, Peter J. Towns and his wife Deborah of Warren, Brian D. Towns and his wife Doris of Sturbridge and Suzanne M. Greany of Wales; seven grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday December 17, 2015 from 2-4pm in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson with Military Honors at 4pm. Burial will be private.
