William J Gonyea

Monson-William J Gonyea, 69, passed away at home July 13, 2024 . Bill was born April 15, 1955, in Springfield to the late Clarence E. and Shirley M (Cummings) Gonyea. Bill was a pipefitter. He was a firm believer in hard work and was proud to have worked his career as a commercial steam pipefitter. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fresh water fishing in area streams and ponds. But, most of all, Bill loved to be surrounded by any and all friends of his two sons, fondly nicknaming the group, “The Boys Club”. Once retired, Bill and his cat, FarmBoy, were happiest spending their days together in the “Man Cave”.

 

Bill leaves his wife of 38 years, Carol A. Jaciow and their children; Cody Gonyea and his wife Ashley Muraczewski of Westfield and Luke Gonyea and his wife Amy Haggerty of Hampden; three brothers, Thomas Gonyea and his wife Sandy, John Gonyea and his husband Jim, Joseph Gonyea and his wife Cathy; three sisters, Carol St. Onge and her husband Michael, Kathy Sanford and her husband Don, and Laurie Larsen as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, David and Ronnie Gonyea.

 

Services have been entrusted to Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St Monson. The family will have visiting hours Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 10am until 12noon at the funeral home.
