Whitney A. "Whit" Ralph, 58, died Saturday October 17, 2009. Born in Springfield May 27, 1951 to the late Whitney A. and Nora(Anthony) Ralph, he grew up in Springfield and was a resident there for many years before moving to Monson. Whit was a graduate of Classical High School, Springfield Technical Community College and Westfield State College. He was a claims representative for social security for over 34 years. Whit was an avid outdoors man, he loved to hunt and fly fish. He tied his own flies, carved and collected decoys and carved songbirds. His greatest joy came from training and successfully competing with Labrador Retrievers in AKC regulated field trials.

He leaves his wife Carol (Taylor) Ralph, two brothers Wayne Ralph and his wife Paula of E. Longmeadow and Gregory Ralph of North Carolina, nephews Brett and Steven Ralph, a step-daughter Coulette Lioce and her husband Luca and step grandchildren Duilio and Russell, along with many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 21, 2009 at 10 am in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson with burial to follow. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8pm. Memorial donations may be made to Quaboag Valley Hospice 40 Wright St Palmer, MA or to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
