Biography

Monson-Walter F. Holda, 88, died Monday, December 19, 2011. Born August 19, 1923, in West Thompson, Ct to the late Joseph J. and Victoria (Kapoka) Holda he has been a long time resident here. Walter was an Army Veteran of WW II. He worked at area grocery stores as a butcher including Everybody's Market in Palmer and Food Basket in Palmer and IGA in Ware. Walter was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Monson, a member of the Polish-American Citizens Club, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. In his retirement years Wlter enjoyed traveling with his wife Fran. They traveled to Poland and spent time in Florida and South Carolina.

Walter was predeceased by his wife Frances Holda in February 2011; a bother Mitchell Holda anda sister Mary Moriarty. He leaves two brothers, Chester Holda of Monson and Edward Holda of Wilbraham; a sister Stella Zerdecki of Three Rivers; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
