Virginia Gaudette

February 3, 1929 — January 17, 2010

Virginia R. (Santucci) Gaudette, 80, of High St. died Sunday, January 17, 2010. Born in Palmer, February 3, 1929, to the late Joseph and Lillian (Messier) Santucci she was the oldest of eight children. Virginia graduated from Palmer High School, married Aime Gaudette and became the proud mother of five children, ten grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
Virginia worked at Tambrands in Three Rivers for many years until her retirement at age 65. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Monson and served as a Regent of the Daughters of Isabella for many years. During her retirement she was a committed volunteer at the Monson Senior Center and enjoyed teaching line dancing. She enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends.
Virginia is survived by her husband of 63 years, Aime T. Gaudette, a son George Gaudette and his wife Kathryn of Ocala, FL; daughters Denise Bird of Monson, Donna Furlong of North Reading, MA, Joanne Keller and her husband Robert Spencer of Umatilla, FL, and Janine Anderson and her husband Scott of Palmer; grandchildren Jesse and Sarah Gaudette, Susan Bird, Cynthia Sharo, Christopher and Karen Furlong, Alicia Dodge, Justine Keller and Jeffrey and Nicole Anderson; great granddaughter Sariya Dodge. She leaves her brothers Joseph Santucci of Palmer, Paul Santucci of Brimfield and Michael Santucci of Florida; sisters Patricia O'Connor of Thorndike, Jeannette Allen of Thorndike and Lorraine Wilga of Belleview, Fl. She was predeceased by a brother Anthony Santucci and son in-law Zane Furlong.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 20, 2010 beginning at 9:15 from Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church and burial at Bethany Cemetery all in Monson. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palmer Healthcare Center 250 Shearer St. Palmer, MA 01069 or to Hospice Services of Western MA 1325 Springfield St. Suite 12 Feeding Hills, MA 01030. The Gaudette family wishes to thank all of the hardworking staff of Palmer Healthcare Center and Hospice of Western MA. They showed tremendous compassion to all of us.
