Our hearts are heavy with sorrow as we announce that Tracey Lee (Griswold) Lane passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 6th, 2010. Still young at 42 with many years ahead of her it must have been her time to move on and answer that call we all must take one day. Tracey leaves behind a grieving family who will miss her very much, her parents Bonnie Bradway and William and Charlann Griswold of Palmer, MA. Tracey was predeceased by her son Gregory Dean Russell, born in Germany and is survived by her three special children, the loves of her life; Elyse Gabrielle Russell, of Springfield, MO; Daemon Michael Lane and Haley Kristine Lane of Aurora, IN. Tracey leaves a large loving family; a sister, Sherry Lynn Storey and husband John of West Warren, MA, a brother, Joshua John Griswold and wife Lindsay of Three Rivers, MA nephews; John Storey III of Palmer, Brad Budlong of Monson, and Ronald Toelken Jr of Decatur, AL, nieces; Amanda Storey of Three Rivers, Ma. and Sabrina Warton of Palmer, MA and a very special great nephew - " Her Lil' Man " Kayden Storey of Three Rivers, MA.
Tracey was born in Ware, Massachusetts and created many childhood memories in Wales, Brimfield, and Palmer. She attended Tantasqua High School and later attended Branford Hall of Springfield, MA for Nursing. Of the many occupations Tracey held, her favorite was being a bus driver for First Student of Belchertown, MA, because the students touched her heart in so many ways.
Tracey's love for life was obvious and she could not help but lift her wings to fly. She lived all over the country and even explored Europe during her marriage. Tracey's first and only love was her children and any child in need. You could often tell where she was by the gathering of children at her door. Whether it was an impromptu outside drive-in built of a bed sheet and mounds of popcorn or whipped cream fights that she would start, Tracey was known as the cool mom. While most would not take that time for a special memory Tracey embraced them and made them happen. A friend in need became her crusade and no matter what, the help would come all you needed to do was ask. She often went without but her first priority was always someone else's needs.
Our world has become a little darker without Tracey and our hearts a great deal heavier as we try to figure out the need for such a person to leave us. But God had a plan, one we did not know of and so He called her and she answered. This time perhaps she was the one in need and so she has gone from us to be nurtured, cared for and loved like only He can. No matter your relationship with Tracey the love you now feel seems so much deeper having know her. She has made her mark on this world in many ways and everyone she touched will miss her but they go on with a treasure full of memories. Fly Angel and spread your wings there are no more restriction, no more sorrows, and so much more beyond the horizon.
Tracey will be sincerely missed by MANY friends and family members and so we invite you all to attend a celebration of Tracey's life Friday, November 12th from 6-8PM at the AmVets Hall, 2150 Main Street Three Rivers, MA 01081. Please bring all those far fetched but believable stories and memories to share. A small Service will be held at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers; please PAY IT FORWARD.
