Thomas O Moore

June 25, 1945 — July 26, 2019

Monson-Thomas Moore, 74, passed away at home on July 26, 2019.  The son of Ralph and Lucy (Corish) Moore, he grew up and spent his life in Monson. Tom proudly served his country in the US Army.  He was a Vietnam Veteran and received the Bronze Star.  After his service, he worked for Skorupski Brothers in Wilbraham and later started his own business, Moore Contractors.  He was a member of the Ludlow Elks and the Vietnam Veterans of America.
Tom had many interests, hobbies, and talents, and lived a very active life.   He enjoyed restoring old cars, going to car shows, and driving his ’66 Ford Fairlane.  He had his pilot’s license. He was a hunter and always had a hound dog.  Tom liked to fish and went on several trips to Canada with his buddies.  He also did a lot of snowmobiling in Canada, including a trip to the remote Gaspé Peninsula.  His real love, however, was mowing the fields on the tractor and just enjoying the farm.

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Helen (Skorupski), his daughter Pamela Gainer and her husband Christian, and his son Michael and his wife Laura.  He leaves four grandchildren, Charlie, Wesley, Thomas, and Henry.  He also leaves his brother Bill and wife Sandra.  He was predeceased by his sister Joan McCarron.

Calling hours will be Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 5-8 PM at Lombard Funeral Home, 3 Bridge Street, Monson.  Burial will be private.
