Biography

Brimfield- Theodore S. Closson, 92, a former resident of Brimfield and most recently of Tatnuck Park in Worcester, died Friday, June 14, 2013. Born in Tremont, Maine to the late Charles and Carrie (Farley) Closson he was a resident of Brimfield for over 30 years. Ted was a Army Veteran of WW II. He retired after more than 30 years as a lineman from Mass Electric, now National Grid. Ted was a communicant of St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield and was also a Fourth Degree Knight of the Brimfield Council where he was a charter member. He was a former member of the Brimfield Lions Club and a member of the American Legion in Trenton, Maine. After his retirement Ted enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida and the summer months on George's Pond in Franklin, Maine. He had a love of golf and was passionate about ballroom dancing with his wife Marcy. He also enjoyed traveling the Country and the World. Ted enjoyed swimming and shared his love of the sport by teaching swimming and water safety courses.

Mr. Closson was predeceased by his wife, Marcelle (Grise`) Closson in 2007. He leaves his son John Closson and his wife Kathleen of Wiscasset, Maine; daughter Carole Mimeault and her husband Paul of Brimfield and daughter Marti Putnam and her husband Paul of Virginia Beach, VA, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Ted was predeceased by seven brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21, 2013, beginning at 10 am from Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. in Monson with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Christopher's in Brimfield. Burial will follow at Brimfield Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 5-8pm at Lombard Funeral Home.
