Thelma Helen Illig

East Longmeadow- Thelma H. (Salter) Illig, 93, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. Thelma was born on February 17, 1931 in Springfield to the late Horace and Edith (Wickett) Salter. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. She spent many years working for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as a secretary. She was a past Matron of the Eastern Star of the Corona chapter #205 in East Longmeadow and a member of the First Congregational Church in East Longmeadow. She enjoyed fishing of all kinds, spending time at her beach cottage in Rhode Island, and calm nights listening to the waves with her husband Robert of whom she was married to for 62 years.

Thelma was predeceased in life by her husband Robert. She leaves daughters Noreen and her husband Robert, Arleen, Bonnie and her husband Gino, and Cindy. She leaves grandchildren Amy, Beth, Carol, Keith, James, Valerie, Katie, Michael, Maria, Heather, Kurt and Danielle; great grandchildren Harper, Kassie, Jacob, Jimmy, Josh, Karissa, Hayley, Bob, Eve, Kyle, Daighan and Caedman. She was predeceased by her brothers Bill, Don and Gene; sister Margie; sons in law Jeffrey and Mike and granddaughter Francine.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Monson.
