Biography

Palmer-Stanley Pilch, 94, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in Three
Rivers, MA. He was born May 5, 1919 in Palmer to the late Martin and Jadwiga
Pilch. He was a graduate of Palmer High School and a Army Veteran. After
graduating from high school he was a tractor driver for Luczai Farms in
Hazardville, CT. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served during WWII in
Rhineland and Central Europe. He was discharged in December of 1945 with the
rank of Sergeant. Stanley served in the Military Police unit and received the
Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon,
American Theater Campaign Ribbon and Victory Medal. After his discharge he
worked as a toolmaker for F&D Machine and Tool in Three Rivers until his
retirement.
During his adult life he was the caretaker for many family members, always
putting them first and giving of himself selflessly. His primary joy in life
was growing his wonderful garden from seed, always sharing his crops with
everyone who came to visit. He was a naturalist in the true sense, making do
with what he had and making things last an eternity, he always created something out of nothing.

Stanley was predeceased by his parents and nine sisters and brothers. He is
survived by 10 nieces and nephews and their families.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 11am in St. Peter
and St. Paul Cemetery in Bondsville with Military Honors. Memorial
contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
