Biography

Monson-Sophie (Kaczmarczyk) Sieron, 93, of Monson, MA, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Life Care Center of Wilbraham surrounded by her
loving family. Sophie "Zofia" was born Dec.27, 1920 in Three Rivers,
MA, the daughter of the late Anthony and Julia (Lazarz) Kaczmarczyk.
She attended schools in Three Rivers and Palmer High School. On Sept.
28, 1947, she married Leonard C. Sieron of Monson, MA where she lived
most of her life. Together with her family she was a communicant of
St. Patrick's Church in Monson. As a young woman, she was employed as
a salesclerk at Woolworth's, a private nanny, and a factory worker with
her father at the mill that supplied wire for our troops in WWII.
Years later she helped her husband run the family grocery store in
Monson. With her family, she frequented beaches, parks, festivals, and
summer concerts throughout New England. She enjoyed listening and
dancing to all kinds of music, especially Polkas. Sophie was a
wonderful cook whose delicious macaroni and cheese, Polish stuffed
cabbage, apple pies, and birthday cakes were often requested by others.

She always welcomed company and visits from her precious four legged
furry friends, Nugget and Lady. Affectionately known as Babki, she
enjoyed teaching her beloved granddaughters Polish words, such as Ja
Cie Kocham---I Love You. To the end, she had a sharp mind and liked
recounting stories about the history of the relatives from the 1800s to
the present. Sophie's kindness, gentle nature, sweet smiles, and
loving hugs will be missed by all of us.
