Sherwood P. "Pot" Corish, 77 , of Palmer, died Saturday,September 5, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield.
Born October 13, 1931 in Palmer to the late John R. and Clara (Wilber) Corish he was a longtime resident of Monson before Moving to Belchertown for 22 years and most recently living in Palmer.
"Pot" was a veteran of the US Air Force and served during the Korean conflict. He was employed by C.F. Church Co. in Monson for 34 years. He then worked at Pine Valley Plantation in Belchertown for 10 years before his retirement. Sherwood was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 8428 in Belchertown, lifetime member of the DAV, member of the American Legion post 241 in Monson, member of AMVETS in Three Rivers and a former member of the Monson Fire department. "Pot" loved to travel and enjoyed watching the Boston Redsox and the Atlanta Braves.
He leaves his wife of 25 years Yvonne (Rich) Corish; his daughters Colleen and her husband Rick Madison of East Longmeadow and Kathleen M. Corish of Monson; step-daughters Sharleen and her husband Charles McCabe of Three Rivers and Melinda and her husband Roger Trudell of Three Rivers and a sister Martha Wernersbach of Ocala, Florida; grandchildren; Amanda, Andrew and Ashley; step grandchildren; Erica, Andrew and Roger; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother John Corish and a sister Elaine Daly.
