Biography

Wales- Rudolph J. "Rudy" Kusek, 95, died Sunday, January 25, 2015, surrounded by the love of family. Born in Palmer, August 14, 1919 to the late John and Katherine Kusek, he was a resident of Palmer before moving to Wales just a few years ago. Rudy was an Army Veteran of WWII. He was a machine operator at Jarvis and Jarvis before his retirement. Rudy was a communicant of St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield, for many years he sang in the St. Thomas Choir in Palmer. He loved bowling and playing cards, he also enjoyed Polish music and dancing, he was a softball coach and enjoyed helping people, always giving of his time to lend a hand. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.




Rudy was pre-deceased by his wife, Norma G. (Kelley) Kusek in 2012; he leaves his daughter Sylvia J. Pisano and her husband Robert of Wales; a sister Mary Motyka of Palmer; a step-son Mark Benoit; grandchildren, Dan Chalue and his wife June, Dennis Chalue, Darcy Corish and Darrin Chalue and his wife Ann; step grandchildren, Matthew Benoit and Elizabeth Benoit; great grandchildren, Daniel and Karen Chalue, Shala Corish, Cody, Amanda and Shania Geaslin; step great grandchildren, Owen and Liam Benoit and many nieces and nephews. Rudy was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Denise Geaslin; a brother Stanley; sisters, Helen, Joanna, Irene and Emily.




Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, 2015 with a funeral procession forming at 9am at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. in Monson, Liturgy of Christian burial will be held at 10am at St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield, burial will take place at Bethany Cemetery in Monson. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 4-7pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association PO Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241, Greater Springfield Senior Services 66 Industry Ave, Suite 9, Springfield, MA 01104 or to a charity of choice.
