Palmer-Roger W. Barnes, Sr., 76, died Monday, May 13, 2013 surrounded by the love of family. Born in Springfield to the late Lyle and Alice M. (Ingram) Barnes, he was a resident of Monson for many years before moving to Palmer. Roger was a diesel mechanic for Friendly Ice Cream in Wilbraham for over 32 years.
Roger leaves his wife of 57 years, Joyce M. (Scott) Barnes and their children, Roger W. Barnes Jr and his wife Catherine of Palmer, Ronnie Barnes and his wife Donna of Monson, Linda Pelissier and her husband Marc of Palmer, Randy Barnes and Kirsten Hughes of Belchertown; brothers Theodore and his wife Lee of Colorado, Robert Barnes and his wife Faye of Monson, James Barnes and his wife Cathy of Monson, Judith Lusty and her husband Bill of Monson, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 2-4pm at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson with a service of remembrancce to be held at 4pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wing Memorial VNA and Hospice 40 Wright St. Palmer, MA 01069. .
