Robert S Mcconchie

July 2, 1941 — December 28, 2016

Robert S. McConchie, 75, of North Attleboro, beloved husband of Alyce (Tenczar) McConchie, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, December 28, 2016.  Born on July 2, 1941, in  Springfield, MA, he was the son of the late James F. and Ruth S. McConchie.
Bob graduated from Monson High School in 1959 and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Norwich University in 1963.  Bob was also a member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard.
He worked as a sales representative for Amoco for many years, later became co-owner of SPL Marketing, and was a corporator at Monson Savings Bank.
Bob enjoyed coaching youth sports, traveling, and was a dedicated fan of the New England Patriots.
He was a loving husband, caring father, and loyal friend.  Bob will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched, so much so that he was known as the unofficial “mayor” of the Cliffs neighborhood in North Attleboro.
Bob leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Alyce, their son Brian McConchie and his wife, Kyndel, of Columbia, SC, his aunt Mary Whitaker, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, cousins, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother, J. Bruce McConchie, in 1991.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at 11 am, at First Church of Monson 5 High Street, Monson, MA.  Visiting hours will be Tuesday, January 3, 2017, from 3-6 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association PO Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
