Monson-Robert E. Marsden, 81, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 surrounded by the love of family in his home. Bob was born September 28, 1943 in Springfield to the late Gilbert and Anna M (Fournier) Marsden. He was a graduate of Springfield Trade School and enlisted in the US Navy Seabees. Bob served during the Vietnam War from September 1964 and was Honorably discharged in April of 1968. For many years Bob was a heavy equipment operator working for Palmer Paving. Later co-owning M&M Paving and after retiring he continued to work independently paving driveways, finally retiring in ????. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 241 in Monson, he enjoyed golfing, fishing both in local freshwater lakes and the ocean. He enjoyed going to the beach, floating in his pool for hours and being with his family.
Bob leaves his wife of 57 years, Paula B. (Denton) Marsden and their children; Kenneth Marsden of Monson, Keith Marsden of Myrtle Beach, SC and Kimberly Bailey of Monson; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Brittany, Jordan, Cassidy, Lynzie, Ryan and Hannah; three great grandchildren, Brooke, Ean and Hunter; a sister, Beverly Coppoletta and her husband Robert of Palm Beach, FL and two nieces, Kimberly Hernandez and Tiffany Canavan, as well as neighbors and friends.
Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home Monday February 3, 2025 from 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation in memory of Bob to Baystate Hospice 30 Capital Drive West Springfield, MA 01089.
