Monson, MA- Robert P. Denning, 69, died Sunday, December 8, 2013. Born in Houlton, Maine to the late Paul A. and Beulah (Turney) Denning, he was a graduate of South Windsor High School class of 1963. Robert served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era. He then began his career at Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford, Ct retiring after 41 years as operations manager. Bob was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Monson, MA where he has lived for the past 25 years. He was active with the BSA Troop 818 in Enfield, Ct. He was Cub Master for 15 years, 7 years as ADC and 13 years as COR. He was also active with the fraternal organization, Loyal Order of Moose for over 20 years, for 10 years he was State Secretary for the Hy D Davis Moose Chapter.
Robert leaves his wife of 45 years Elizabeth " Bonnie" F. (Weed) Denning; a brother Frank Denning and his wife Carol of Union, CT; two nephews Michael P. Denning and his wife Lynn and Thomas R. Denning and his wife Kristi and a niece Linda M. Denning Shea and her husband John; three great nephews Michael T. Gallichant, John D. Shea and Paul D. Denning; three great nieces, Sarah D. Gallichant, Taryn E. Denning and Payton S. Denning.
Funeral services will be held Thursday December 12, 2013 beginning at 10am from Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson, MA with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Patrick's Church and burial to follow with Military Honors at Bethany Cemetery all in Monson. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday December 11th from 5-8pm at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Moosehart, 155 International Drive Moosehart, ILL 60539.
