Rita Brown, 89, died Wednesday July 14, 2010 in Palmer. Born November 1, 1920 in Springfield, MA to the late Henry J. and Mary E. (Yeddo) Berry, she has been a long time resident of Monson. Rita was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Monson and a former member of the Palmer Grange. She worked at Monson Jr.,Sr High School as a baker and retired after 20 years.
Rita was predeceased by her husband Norman W. Brown in 2003. She leaves thier children William L. Brown and his wife Linda of Monson, Robin N. Brown and his wife Beth of Monson and Catherine Fontanella and her husband Michael of Cleveland, Ohio; brothers James Berry and Ronald Berry; a sister Theresa Berry; grandchildren Sarah Brown, Rita Campbell and her husband Geoff, Robert Brown, Richard Brown, Edward Brown, Christopher Fontanella, Brian Fontanella, Shaun Fontanella and MaryKate Fontanella and 4 great grandchildren. Rita was predeceased by her brothers Robert, Howard and Henry and a sister Patricia Potter.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 19th at 9:15 from Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church and burial at Hillcrest Cemetery all in Monson. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, July 18th from 2-4pm at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Palmer Healthcare and Quaboag Valley Hospice for the care their Mother received.
