Richard H Stanton

Brimfield-Richard H Stanton, 100, born on April 25, 1924, in Palmer, MA, passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2025. He lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to his family and his passions.

Richard retired from Rathbone Corporation in Palmer, MA after many years. He also honorably served in the U.S. Army during World War II, a time he remembered with pride throughout his life.

One of Richard's proudest accomplishments was building his own home in Brimfield, where he lived since 1955. He cherished this place, filled with memories and moments of joy with family and friends.

He was known for his love of gardening, where he grew the most amazing vegetables that were admired by all. Alongside that, he enjoyed woodworking and spent countless hours making wooden toys. His love for the outdoors included turkey and deer hunting, activities that brought him peace and happiness.

Richard is survived by his two sons, Richard H. Stanton Jr and his wife Melanie, and Michael E. Stanton; his daughters Lorraine "Dolly" Goodreau and her husband Lawrence, Heidi A. Deschenes and her husband Andre, and Becky E. Stockman. He was a proud grandfather to sixteen grandchildren and had many great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lorraine R (Blake) Stanton and his daughter Sally B. Smith. Richard will be remembered for his kind spirit, dedication to his family, and the wonderful legacy he leaves behind.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 at 11am at Brimfield Cemetery in Brimfield.
