Richard "Rick" Walder

Palmer-Richard H. "Rick" Walder, 75, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 after a period of declining health. Rick was born in Palmer June 11, 1949 to the late Harry A. and Phyllis (Barton) Walder. He has been a life long resident of Bondsville. Rick served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam war and was honorably discharged. He was a truck driver for Friendly Ice Cream in Wilbraham for many years.


Rick enjoyed deer hunting and fishing the Quabbin Reservoir and Swift River since he was a child. He could often be seen patrolling the neighborhood a couple times a day in his pick-up making sure everything was okay. Rick's happiest moments were when he was was boating and camping at Lake George, NY.


Rick leaves his wife of 35 years, Lori (Young) Walder; a son, Timothy Walder and his wife Christine of Brimfield; a daughter, Jaimie Gulbranson of Palmer; stepsons, Logan Wood of Palmer and Donald Wood and his wife Shala of Bondsville. He also leaves his eleven beloved grandchildren; Connor, Alannah, Koen, Dalton, Adaline, Evelyn, Donald, Cade, Ryan, Paisley and Aubrey. Rick leaves his brothers, Alan Walder and his wife Carol, Randy Walder and his wife Amy and a sister Sherri Walder.


Services have been entrusted to Lombard Funeral Home of Monson and will be private.
