Richard Marcotte

Monson-Richard A. Marcotte, 67, of Moulton Hill Rd, passed away Thursday April 23, 2009 at Baystate Medical Center with his family at his side. Born in Lewiston, Maine to the late Albert E. and Edna (Phoenix) Marcotte he has been a Monson resident for many years. Before his retirement he worked as a controller for hotel chains. He then worked at the Ware Walmart in shipping and receiving. Richard had a great love for the outdoors and took much pride in growing Christmas trees on Moulton Hill. He enjoyed sports especialy the RedSox, Bruins, U-Conn and his grandchildren's involvement in sports. His greatest joys came from spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He leaves his wife Margaret (Rivard) Marcotte, his children Richard A. Marcotte Jr. of Shrewsbury, Melinda Marcotte and her fiance, Wayne Sidur of Ware and Lisa Dimarzio and her husband Chris of Ware, a sister Joan Hamann and her husband Roger of Greene, Maine; four grandchildren Slater, Denver, Julia and Sydney and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Donald Marcotte. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2008 at 10am in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson with burial at Bethany Cemetery also in Monson. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 5-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Monson Fire Department Ambulance Fund PO Box 335 Monson MA 01057.
