Biography

Monson-Raymond E. "Kiddo" Klisiewicz, 89, died Thursday, October 3, 2013. Born in Monson August 2, 1924 to the late John and Agnes (Markowska) Klisiewicz, he has been a life long resident here. He served in the US Navy during WWII and received the Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal. Ray served as an Electrician's Mate Second Class. He was a graduate of Monson Academy and continued his education at Coyne Electrical School in Boston. Ray retired from MassMutual in Springfield where he was a Master Electrician and foreman of the electrical department after 32 years of service. Ray was an instructor in the electrical shop at Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School in 1972. He served on many committees and organizations in the Town of Monson including; electrical inspector, Housing Authority Chairman, Democratic Town Committee, President and member of the Monson Polish American Citizen Club, Adjunct of American Legion Post 241 in Monson. He also was a Deputy Sheriff of Hampden County. Ray's greatest enjoyment came from being with his family.

Ray was predeceased by his wife Adella D. (Janulewicz) Klisiewicz in 1986. He leaves three sons Kenneth, Stanley and his wife Nancy and Richard; a daughter Deborah Beyor and her husband Steven all of Monson; a brother Frank and his wife Helen; sister, Jeanette Strycharz and sister in-law Helen Klisiewicz all of Monson; grandchildren, Danny, Jeremy and his wife Mary, Sara and her husband Christopher, Lindsey, Jessica and Garrett; great grandchildren Madison and Jameson. Ray was predeceased by his brothers, Edward and John, sisters; Helen Kluceski, Jennie Kascascz and Barbara LeDuc and a grandson Donny Putnam.

Visiting Hours will be held Monday, October 7, 2013 in Lombard Funeral Home from 5-8pm. A funeral service will be Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 10am in Lombard Funeral Home in Monson, burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Bondsville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Monson Fire Department Ambulance Fund PO Box 335 Monson, MA 01057.
