Biography

Monson- Priscilla A.(Moore) Douty, 79, died Friday, April 13, 2012. Born in Monson to the late Philip and Alice (Cook) Moore, she has been a life long resident here. She was a graduate of Monson High School and was a member of the Monson-Glendale United Methodist Church. Priscilla worked for several area businesses including A.D.Ellis Mills, Grants, Dan Wesson Arms and she was a school bus driver for the Town of Monson. She and her husband Gordon began the Moon Mountain Mounties which was a Horse Club for trail riding in Monson. Priscilla was also active with the Scanticook Pony Club in Hampden. In more recent years she studied music and played the organ. She also devoted many hours getting her great grandson to hockey practice and games for the Springfield Capitals.

Priscilla leaves her husband of almost 60 years, Gordon E. Douty; their son Bret R. Douty of Monson; two granddaughters Jessica Douty of Thorndike and Melissa Douty of Palmer; a sister June Curtis and her husband Al of Florida; two great grandsons Kevyn Douty and Ryan Klesper and a great granddaughter Emily Douty-Molis.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 11am in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson. A visiting hour will begin at 10am. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the Monson Senior Center Main St. Monson or to the Monson Unitarian-Universalist Parish Building Fund Main St. Monson, MA 01057.
