Monson-Paul J. Picard, 64, died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 surrounded by the love of family. Paul was born December 21, 1949 in New Brunswick, Canada and has been a longtime resident of Monson. He attended Monson High School and served in the Army during the Vietnam era. Paul has worked in the Town of Palmer as a heavy equipment operator for 19 years. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying hunting and spending time at his camp in Maine and Holland.
Paul leaves his wife of 45 years, RoseMarie (Holda) Picard and their children; Justin Picard of Thorndike, Luke Picard and his wife Brittany of Ludlow, David Picard of Monson, Kristin Cierpich of Dudley and Nichole McDonnell and her husband Brian of Holland; his Mother, Lorraine Picard of Monson; brothers Guy Picard and his wife Lillian of NH, Peter Picard and his wife Debbie of CT; sister, Laura Picard of Monson and eight grandchildren; Natalie, Freddy, Harmony, Madelynn, Logan, Landon, Aodhan and Lilly. Paul was predeceased by his father Jean-Luc Picard and his brothers Roger and James Picard.
Paul's family is extremely thankful for all of the support and many acts of kindness, especially from his co-workers from the Town of Palmer and Baystate Wing VNA & Hospice
Visiting hours will be held Monday, December 22, 2014 from 5-8pm at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. in Monson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 beginning at 9am at the funeral home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick's Restoration Fund PO Box 473 Monson, MA 01057.
