Wilbraham- Paul S. Carlson, 76, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024.  Paul was born in Hartford, CT to the late Elliot and Edwina D. (Burns) Carlson. He was a graduate of Classical High School in Springfield, class of 1965.  Paul served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.  He then continued his education and graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1974 with a degree in Journalism.  Paul's time at U-Mass began his lifetime passion of U-Mass athletics, especially football and basketball. He retired after more than 20 years from Big Y, as a lead auditor.  Paul and his wife raised their family in Monson, they spent time in Maine before returning to the area and settling in Wilbraham. He enjoyed attending the dance programs at Jacobs Pillow in Beckett.

Paul leaves his wife of 49 years, Nancy A. (Driscoll) Carlson; a son Jeffrey S. Carlson and his wife Vanessa of Chicago and a granddaughter, Brynn Carlson; his sister in-law Carol Carlson of Granby, MA, two nieces and a nephew. Paul was predeceased by his son, Paul B. Carlson and a brother, Robert E. Carlson.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 from 4-6pm at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson, MA .  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to UMass Alumni Fund 380 Russell St. Hadley, MA 01035.
