Brimfield-Paul E. Aucoin, 75, passed to a more peaceful place on November 10, 2023.  He was born in Bangor, Maine October 13, 1948, the second son of Earle and Merita (Marin) Aucoin. Five siblings would soon follow.  He was proud to have graduated from John Bapst High School in Bangor and then Boston College where he prepared for a teaching career. He taught one year of Junior High in Maine before moving to Massachusetts for what would be thirty-three years of teaching fifth grade in Warren. He and his wife Linda settled in Brimfield in the early eighties where Paul had a large yard he considered his playground, never work. He enjoyed gardening, building rock walls, maple syruping and improving the landscape. Inside he enjoyed painting landscapes and reading. Additional interests were miles and miles of walking, competitive games of racquetball, and when three grandchildren came along, they brought each other immeasurable joy.

Paul was a board member and treasurer of Pinewood Acres Children’s Charity, Inc for more than fifty years up until the time of his death.  The organization sponsored disadvantaged children to summer camps while working with numerous agencies to ensure the neediest children could experience a few weeks of enjoyment.

Paul was a member of St. Christophers Parish in Brimfield for many years and taught CCD classes for nine years.  He also served as a collector during Masses. Later as a member of St. Anne’s in Fiskdale he served as a collector also.

Paul had many athletic interests and successes. He won two different racquetball club championships in his division. In 2003 he was named MVP of the parent-teacher fundraising basketball game. In 2022 he was inducted into the John Bapst High School Football Hall of Fame as a member of the 1965 undefeated State Championship team.

Paul is survived by his wife Linda and son, Greg and his wife Kate; grandchildren, Olivia, Carly and Beckett. Brothers, Philip and his wife Kathy of Florida, Thomas and his wife Debbie of Maine; sisters, Sue Soucie and husband Jim of New Hampshire, Nancy Crotty and husband Steve of Maine and Mary Roach and husband John of Maine and also many nieces and nephews.
