Patricia Handzel

1937-2008

Monson-Patricia (Harvey) Handzel, 70, of Cedar Swamp Road, died Tuesday April 8, 2008 at Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer. Born in Monson to the late James W. and Marion H. (Moulton) Harvey, she attended Monson Schools and has been a life long resident here. Patricia worked for more than 20 years at Monson Developmental Center in direct care. Patricia enjoyed gardening and painting. She leaves her husband of 22 years Joseph F. Handzel and her children Robert Milne and his wife Sharon of Wales and Cynthia Harris of Indian Orchard; her step-children Debra Bigelow and her husband Russell of Palmer, Joann Casey and her husband Ted of Wales, Lauri Davis and her husband Mark of Palmer, Michael Handzel and Terry Dillon of Granville, and David Handzel and his wife Kim of Palmer; five brothers Edward Harvey, David Harvey and Kenneth Harvey of Monson, Wayne Harvey of West Brookfield and Douglas Harvey of Palmer; fourteen grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 14, 2008 at 7pm in Lombard Funeral Home of Monson. A visiting hour will begin at 6pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson is entrusted with the arrangements.
