Pamela E. Smith

1946-2008

Warren, MA-Pamela E. Smith, 62, of Brimfield Rd, died Wednesday November 19, 2008 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Hartford, CT to the late George C. and Naomi A. (Fiumecel) Mortlock. Pam was a graduate of Manchester High School and was a journalist for the Journal Inquirer, Manchester Herald and the Hartford Courant over a period of many years. Moving from Manchester, CT, Pam lived in Lincoln, Maine before moving to Warren, MA where she has resided the last two years. With Pam’s interest in journalism she had an acute awareness of community, national and world events and politics. She had a great love of music, singing and dancing. She has a beautiful collection of Cardinal birds. While she resided in Maine Pam was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She leaves her husband of 36 years, Carleton M. Smith, Sr. and her son Carleton Smith, Jr. and his wife Jessica of Niantic, CT; her step-mother Rita Fitzgerald of Windsor,CT; three sisters Ginny Pizzichemi and her husband Remo of Monson, MA, Kim Schiebel and her husband George of Vernon, CT and Chrissy Lindlau of Coventry, CT; two brothers David Mortlock of Coventry, CT and George Mortlock and his wife Lucille of Florida and four grandchildren Chloe, Adam & Cheyenne Smith and Eli Phelan. A visiting hour will begin at 9am Saturday, November 22 with a funeral service held at 10am in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson, MA with burial at Townsend Cemetery in Andover, CT. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross PO Box 4002018 Des Moines, IA 50340.
