Matthew Durkee

Matthew D. Durkee, 28, of Front St. died May 12, 2010. Born in Pasadena, TX, September 28, 1981 he attended Palmer Schools and Pathfinder Regional Technical High School. He was currently working at the Palmer Foundry. He also worked for area landscapers including Sabos Landscaping Company of Palmer. Matt was an avid Yankees fan, he had a deep love for children and of music. He always made light of a situation with family or life and was a hard worker. He will be missed by family and friends including his mother, Rose A.(Durkee) Ruel of Palmer; father Mark S. Ritchie of CT; grandmother, Amber Ritchie of CT; brothers Peter Ritchie of Springfield and James Ritchie of CT; sister, Amanda Durkee of Springfield; nephews, Jacob and Jordan Pagliaro of Springfield and best friend Joshua Paydos of Ware.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1-4 at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson with a Service of Remembrance at 4pm in the funeral home. A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to the family c/o Sharon Royer 1617 N. Main St. Palmer, MA 01069.
