Matthew Bratianu, 24, of Monson, MA, died suddenly on October 14th, 2017. Born in Springfield, MA on December 1st, 1992 the son of Donna and Scott Bratianu. Matthew was a student of the Monson High School systems. His passion for fishing and the great outdoors began in childhood and only grew throughout the years. This is what he will be remembered for most.
He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. He leaves behind his mother Donna, father Scott, brother Scott Jr. and his girlfriend Bethany, with their daughter, Matt’s niece, Margaret, and his Grandmother Sylvia Wortman. He also leaves his girlfriend Mel, their puppies Malloy and Muffy, along with several aunts, uncles, & cousins.
He is preceded by his grandparents Clifford and Margaret Stacy, His Uncle Fig Nothe, and his dear cousin James Stacy.
Matthew fought substance abuse for the last 5 years of his short life. He experienced many periods of success where he was fully himself; a kind, humorous, strong, and generous young man. Ultimately, he lost his battle and is now another heartbreaking reminder of the heroin epidemic in this country.
