Biography

Mary I. (Noga) Bogacz, 84, died Monday, February 1, 2010, after a period of failing health, surrounded by her family. Born November 21, 1925, in Palmer to the late Leon and Valaria (Duskiwicz) Noga, she was a graduate of Palmer High School class of 1943 and has lived in Monson since 1957.
Mary worked for The Palmer Journal as a proof reader for many years. She then worked at Target Tool in the office and Stafford Cleaners. Mary also worked at the Palmer Senior Center and retired from Quaboag Valley Visiting Nurse. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Monson and was an active member with the Daughters of Isabella in Palmer. Mary was involved with many other organizations including being a past Girl Scout Leader, a former member of the Womens Auxiliary of Amvets post 74, past president of Club 55 in Palmer and tour coordinator, past member of the Monson Arts Council, Monson Historical Society, Friends of the Monson Free Library and committee member for over 29 years with Monson Summerfest. Mary also held an elected position for the Monson Housing Authority.
Mary leaves her daughter Valerie A. Bogacz-Beaudoin and her husband David Beaudoin of Monson and a son Mark M. Bogacz and his wife Patricia of Three Rivers and a grandson Nicholas Beaudoin of Monson. She was predeceased by her parents and her three brothers, Joseph Noga, Walter Noga and John Noga.
Funeral services will be held Friday February 5, 2010 beginning at 9:15 from Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church both in Monson. Committal prayers will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in Palmer. Visiting hours will be held Thursday February 4, 2010 from 4-7pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Monson Fire Department Ambulance Fund PO Box 335 or to the Monson Summerfest, Inc.-Flag Fund PO Box 113 Monson, MA 01057.
