Monson-Marie A. (Wytas) Kology, 90, died Friday, May 16, 2014. Marie was born in Monson to the late Frank and Florence (LeMay) Wytas, she was a Monson High School graduate and a life long resident here. She worked at Monson Developmental Center for many years and she retired from the former Springfield Molders after 20 years. Marie was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Monson. She was also active with the Daughters of Isabella, the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Monson Democratic Committee, a member of the former Monson Rod and Gun club and she played in several area pitch leagues.
Marie is predeceased by her husband Joseph M. "Peepers" Kology in 2007. She leaves her children; Thomas and Eileen Kology, Joseph Kology Jr and Monika Ferrington, and Francis Kology all of Monson,and Marilyn Stanphill of Yuma, Arizona; a brother Norman Wytas and his wife Jeanette of Florida, a sister Doris St. Marie of Stafford, CT and grandchildren, Danielle, Nathan, Joseph, MistyLee, Wendy, Cindy and Brian; twelve great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by her grandson Joshua Kology and her son in-law Dale Stanphill.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday May 20, 2014 from 5-8pm in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 21, 2014 beginning at 9am from Lombard Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery all in Monson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monson Senior Center Main St. Monson or the Monson Fire Department Ambulance Fund PO Box 335 Monson, MA 01057. .
