Biography

Monson-Marie R. (Stone) Graveline, 96, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 surrounded by the love of family. Marie was born in Warren, MA, December 5, 1917 to the late Charles E. and Rose (Boutin) Stone. She was a graduate of Warren High School and has been a resident of Monson since 1940. She worked in the Monson School system for 34 years retiring in 2002. Marie was a communicant of St. Patrick's church in Monson and an active member of the Daughter's of Isabella for many years. She enjoyed world travel with her husband Alfred. She loved cooking, sewing, had an extensive collection of shoes and a flair for fashion.


Mrs. Graveline was predeceased by her husband Alfred H. Graveline in 2003, her brother Richard Stone in 2007 and her daughter Carole (Graveline) Bressette in 2010. She is survived by three sons, Robert Graveline and his wife Cheryl of Biddeford, ME, Richard Graveline and his companion Teri Thomas of Monson, Carl Graveline with whom she lived in Monson and his companion Sue Chickering of Bondsville; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, September 8, 2014 from 4-7pm in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2014 beginning at 9am in Lombard Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church in Monson. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Warren. Memorial contributions may be made to St Patrick's Restoration Fund PO Box 473 Monson MA 01057 or to the American Heart Association.
