Biography

Monson- Margaret I. (Miecnikoski) Szado, 90, passed away February 6, 2014. Born in Monson, she was the daughter of Alexander and Katazina (Fila) Miecnikoski. She worked at Pratt and Whitney/White Aircraft as an inspector and retired from Jarvis and Jarvis in Palmer as an assembler. She was a member of the Monson Senior Center and a communicant of St. Patrick's Church.

She enjoyed bird watching, tag sales, crossword puzzles, traveling, as well as watching the Red Sox and Patriots. Family meant everything to her.

She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years John J. Szado, and her brothers Edwin McCloski, Joseph McClosky and Peter McClosky. She leaves three children, Lynne Siok and her husband Ronald of Norwich, New York, Edward Szado and his wife Michele of Monson, and Sandra Hobbs and her husband James of Monson, with whom she lived, five grandchildren, Jill Siok, Kara Alaimo, Craig Szado, Curt Szado and Caitlyn Hobbs; five great grandchildren, Molly, Shane, Jordyn and Jack Szado and Megan Alaimo; a sister Helen Wielkiewicz and a brother Theodore McClosky and his wife Adella. She also leaves her special friend, Tutor.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014 beginning at 9:15 from Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. in Monson and 10am in St. Patrick's Church with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, February 12th from 5-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Monson Senior Center Main St. Monson or to St. Patrick's Restoration Fund PO Box 473 Monson, MA 01057.
