Leroy A. Shorette, Jr.

1933-2008

Monson-Leroy A. Shorette, Jr., “Bumpyâ€?, 74, of Bogan Road, died Thursday April 24, 2008. Born in Oakland, Maine he has been a longtime resident of Monson. In more recent years he spent the winter months in Florida. Leroy most recently was employed by M&M Paving in Monson. Prior, he owned and operated Kar Tools, Kar Manufacturing which specialized in fiberglass Dune Buggy’s and Leroy’s Atlantic. He was a member of First Church of Monson, a member of the Day Spring Lodge of Masons, a life member of the Quaboag Riders and an official for the American Motorcycle Association. Leroy was an avid Nascar and Redsox fan. He had a love of family, friends, Ford’s and Harley’s. Leroy was predeceased by his loving wife Arlene F. (Drake) Shorette in 2003. He leaves a son Lee A. Shorette of Ware; a daughter Jacquelyn S. Haley and her husband Dennis of Monson; his mother Ida and her husband Edward Dragon of Thorndike and a daughter in-law Kathleen Shorette of Monson; four grandchildren Jennifer Germain, Lindsey Arventos, Thomas Shorette and Brett Shorette all of Monson and six great grandchildren Kyle, Eric, Emma, Aiden, Haley and Emily; four brothers Richard of S. Daytona, FL, John of Ware, George of Monson and Robert of Sarasota; 2 sisters Carolyn Sullivan of Somers, CT and Gloria Robertson of Groton, MA. Funeral services will be Tuesday April 29, 2008 at First Church of Monson at 10am with burial at Hillside Cemetery in Monson. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 5-8 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monson Fire Department Ambulance Fund PO Box 335 Monson, MA 01057.
