Monson- Laurier J. Letendre, Jr., 76, of Old Stagecoach Drive, died Tuesday November 25, surrounded by the love of his family at home. Born in Springfield to the late Laurier J. and Virginia (Hamilton) Letendre, Sr., he has been a longtime resident of Monson. Laurier was a graduate of Monson High School and then served during the Korean War in the Army. He worked at CF Church Co. in Monson for 20 years and then retired from Peter Pan Bus Lines in Springfield as the Director of Special Operations after 15 years. Laurier was a member of the Monson United Methodist Church and attended the First Church of Monson, Congregational. He was also a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Melha Shriners, Day Spring Lodge of Masons and Convention Bureau’s in New England, NY and DC. Laurier leaves his loving wife of 52 years Sandra V. (Rogers) Letendre, a daughter Laurel Peck and her husband, Donald of Monson; a brother Ralph Letendre and his wife Deanna of York, PA, a brother in-law Richard Gloster of Palmer; three grandchildren Renee L. Peck and her companion Leon Johnson, Donald L. Peck and companion Jennifer Choiniere and Christopher M. Peck and three great grandchildren, Natalie, Alex and Jeremy. Laurier is predeceased by a brother David R. Letendre and a sister Gloria J. Gloster.

His family would like to thank Dr. Johnson and Dr. Maguire at Wing Memorial Hospital and the nurses and staff of the oncology department at Wing Memorial Hospital and Monson Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 1, 2008 at 10am in the First Church of Monson on High St. with burial at Hillside Cemetery in Monson. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, November 30, 2008 from 2-5 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Quaboag Valley Hospice 42B Wright St. Palmer, MA 01069 or to the Monson Fire Department Ambulance Fund PO Box 335 Monson, MA 01057.
