Kenneth Albert Raymond

July 30, 1929 — August 14, 2016

Monson-Kenneth Albert Raymond (87) died Sunday August 14, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center Springfield.  He was born July 30, 1929 to Paul and Mertie (Merritt) Raymond in Vergennes Vermont.  He was educated in the public schools of Vermont, before entering into the United States Army in July of 1955.  He was a peacetime veteran serving until his discharge in October of 1957.

He was married to the former Elizabeth Rose Adams and together they celebrated 51 years of marriage while raising a family and living in Monson for many years. Kenneth was the owner of FDR Seating Company from 1972-1982 and retired in 1989.  He was life member and chaplain of the Day Spring Lodge in Monson and also a chaplain for the Thomas Lodge in Palmer.  His hobbies included railroading and was an avid enthusiast and collector of miniature railroads.  He also was a very accomplished gardener, woodworker, and NASCAR fan.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Rose Raymond, 4 daughters, Faith Strafach and her husband Joseph, Linda Harriman and her husband Gary, along with daughters Hope and Robin; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, and a daughter in law, Melissa Raymond, and many dear and true friends.  He was predeceased by his three sons, George Raymond, Paul Raymond, Randy Raymond, and one brother, Sonny Raymond.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for Kenneth has been set up to help the family defray funeral costs.  Please send donations to Monson Savings Bank 146 Main St. Monson MA 01057  in care of Kenneth Raymond Memorial Fund. A memorial service for Kenneth will be held at a later date and time to be announced.  There are no calling hours and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
