Biography

Monson- June Gustafson Hermanson, 88, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012. June was born January 19, 1924 in Plaistow, NH to the late David and Jane (Thompson) Chase. She has been a resident of Monson for many years. June attended First Church of Monson-Congregational with her family and friends and she was a member of the Monson-Glendale United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the Rebekah's. June enjoyed playing bingo, cards and dominos. Her greatest enjoyment came from watching her children and grandchildren play sports.

June was predeceased by her first husband James W. Gustafson Sr. in 1989 and her second husband Ralph I. Hermanson in 2004. She leaves her children James W. Gustafson Jr and his wife Melde of Monson, Jack D. Gustafson of Ware, Jeffrey C. Gustafson of Monson, Frank R. Gustafson and his wife Pamela of Monson, Jeanne Pietraallo and her husband Gary of Westerly, RI, Jerri Muller and her husband Gus of Crossville, TN, Jane Shorette and her husband John of Ware and Lisa Landry of Indian Trail, NC; nineteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 1-4pm at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St Monson. The Funeral Service will be Monday October 1, 2012 at 10am in the First Church of Monson, Congregational, 3 High St. Monson. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery also in Monson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monson Athletic Boosters c/o Monson High School, Margaret St. Monson, MA 01057 or to Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts Chapter 153 Magazine St. Springfield, MA 01109.
