John A Hall

Monson- John A. Hall, 86, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016.  John was born March 7, 1930 in Montclair, NJ to the late Everitt H. and Helen (Hunter) Hall. He was a graduate of  Wellesley High School and Williams College.   He served in the US Airforce as a Lieutenant.  John was a Stock Broker and Analyst for several Springfield Investment firms until his retirement.  He was a member of the First Church of Monson.

In high school John was a five sport athlete.  He loved playing tennis and was a member of the Ludlow Tennis Club.  He enjoyed golf and was a former club champion at Quaboag Country Club in Monson. He was a Senior Games Gold Medal winner for Golf. One of his greatest accomplishments was to create a Girls Recreation Basketball League for the Town of Monson Park and Rec. Department.  John was well known for being a great gardener and especially his tomato plants.  He also was an accomplished woodworker.

John leaves his wife of 61 years Joretta (Schober) Hall and their sons; David C. Hall and his wife Marianne of Pittsfield, Allen M. Hall and his wife Nancy of Westford; four grandchildren,who affectionately called him Beepa, Rebecca C. Hall, Andrea M. Hall, Rachel B. Hall and Brian H. Hall.  John was predeceased by a son John H.Hall in 1966 and his brothers Hunter Hall and Robert Hall.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11am in the First Church of Monson, Congregational, High Street Monson, MA.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Monson Park and Rec Department, Main St. Monson, MA 01057.
