John P Flegert

Brimfield- John P. Flegert, 69, died Friday, December 15, 2017 surrounded by the love of family.  John was born November 20, 1948 in Palmer to the late Philip and Eleanor (Guilford) Flegert.  He was a graduate of Palmer High School and worked at Palmer Structural Steel before working at Palmer Paving as a heavy equipment operator and yard maintenance coordinator. John was a member of the Operators Union Local 98 and a patron of the St. Joe's Club.  He was an avid sports fan and really enjoyed the Red Sox and Patriots. He loved to read, watch the river in the back yard and take in the wild life. He often would stop at St Joe's enjoying time with friends.  When he hunted his favorite place to be was in Richmond NH. He always hiked a mountain to take in the scenery on every trip.

John leaves his wife of 32 years, Janice D. (Smith) Flegert.  His children and families;  Timothy Frenette and his wife Jessica of Ware,  Deanna Kaplan and her husband Chad of Brimfield Jennifer Johns of Chiefland, FL, Jan McCoy of Palmer and Jay Flegert of TN; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 4-7pm in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson, MA with a celebration of life at the St. Joe's Club 8 Commercial St.  Thorndike, MA beginning at 7:30pm.  Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
