Brimfield-John S. Cox, 53, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, January 28, 2019 at home. John was born, July 12, 1965 in Southbridge and has been a life long resident of Brimfield. He was a graduate of Tantasqua Regional High School and for many years he was a volunteer for the Brimfield Fire Department and Brimfield Ambulance service. He most recently worked for Friendly's Corporation in Palmer. John was a communicant of St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield and in his younger years he served as an Alter Server. He also enjoyed working on his uncle's farm.
John leaves his Mother, Helen F. (Tetreault) Cox of Brimfield; a son, Christopher Cox and his wife Julia of Brimfield; a daughter, Cassandra Henderson and her husband Justin of CT; three brothers, Clark Hayward and his wife Gail of Monson, Anthony Hayward and his wife Carmela of East Windsor and Ronald Cox of Brimfield; sisters, Kimberly Ely and her husband Eugene of Holland, and Katherine Hayward of Southbridge; grandchildren, Lorelai, Riley, Issac, Skylar and Shalynn; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. John was predeceased by a brother Jeffrey Hayward.
Visiting hours for John will be Friday, February 1, 2019 from 5-7pm in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10 am in St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield with burial to follow in Brimfield Cemetery. Please meet directly at St. Christopher's( 16 Sturbridge Rd. Brimfield).
