Palmer-John D. Cheesey , 78 , died Sunday, December13, 2015 at Baystate Wing Hospital. John was born in Rockville, CT on February 1, 1937, the son of the late John Cheesey and Christine (Parciak) Cheesey. He was employed by Quabbin Wire & Cable until his retirement in 1999. John was a co-girl scout leader in Palmer and Ware, and a Leader in the Ware 4H club. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Staffordville Ct Fire Dept. John was a life member of the North American Fishing Club.
He leaves his wife Janet (Patrissi) Cheesey. John is survived by many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer for their help and dedication.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 beginning 9am until 10:30am at Lombard Funeral Home, 3 Bridge St. Monson MA, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be held at 11am at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Thorndike St. Palmer MA. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Monson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Palmer Fire Dept, 12 Walnut. Palmer MA 01069.
