Jerry Hrbek

March 11, 1924 — November 28, 2011


Monson- Jerry C. Hrbek, 87, passed away peacefully, Monday, November 28, 2011. Born in New York, NY he was a WW II Army Veteran. He participated in the Invasion of Normandy and received the WW II Battle of the Bulge Commemorative Medal, D-Day Commemorative Medal, Purple Heart, and WW II Victory Medal. After his Military service Jerry was a demolition spec writer for the office of general services for the state of New York. He was also a landscape architect. Jerry was a longtime resident in the state of New York before moving to Monson in 2004. He had a deep love of family. He was a great Father and beloved Grandfather, with a great sense of humor. Jerry will be missed by all.



Mr. Hrbek was predeceased by his wife Muriel "Mickey" in 2000. He leaves his sons, Jim Hrbek and his wife Barbara, of San Antonio, TX, and Jeremy Hrbek of Shaftsbury, VT; his daughter Shelley Greene and her husband Tom of Monson; eight grandchildren, Jesse, Erin, Jarett, Kasey, Duane, Eli, Lynn and Justin; three great grandchildren, Tobias, Elliott and Jolie and his dog Sammy. Jerry was predeceased by his brother Joe Hrbek.



Funeral services will take place Saturday, December, 3, 2011 at Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. in Monson. Family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9-10am with a service at 10am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
