Palmer - Janet E. (Patrissi) Cheesey passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023. Janet was born in Hartford, CT on July 4, 1938 to the late Frank and Teresa (Repoli) Patrissi. She graduated from Hall High School in West Hartford, CT, attended Mount Ida College in Newton, MA, and later worked as an occupational therapist until her retirement after 32 years. Janet was a strong, proudly independent, and caring person. As a child, Janet loved spending time at the beach with her family. Later, she enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband John, along with bowling. Janet enjoyed being involved in her community – she was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Palmer, a Sunday school teacher, a Girl Scout leader in Palmer and Ware, and a 4-H leader in Ware, and in more recent years Janet loved spending time with friends at the Palmer Senior Center.
Janet was predeceased by her husband John D Cheesey in 2015, as well as her two brothers Richard Patrissi and Francis Patrissi, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Marguerite P. Esthus and her husband Gregory of Simsbury, CT, and her sister-in-law Norma Patrissi of West Hartford, CT. She also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends – especially her dear friend Ann Corsi of Thorndike, MA.
Lombard Funeral Home, 3 Bridge St., Monson has been entrusted with the arrangements. A visiting hour will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 from 10 to 11am at the funeral home with a funeral home service at 11am. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Monson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Friends of the Palmer Senior Center, Inc. in Janet’s honor.
