Biography
James S. Murphy, 72 of Peck Brothers Road died Friday August 13, 2010 surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Boston January 19, 1938 to the late Samuel and Christine (McIntyre) Murphy, he served in the US Navy and has lived in Monson Since 1966. He owned and operated Jafco in Bloomfield, Ct for 15 years, a printing ink manufacturing company. He was a member of the Hampden Card Club and the Cedar Swamp Investors Club. Jim enjoyed playing pitch and hunting.
Jim was pre-deceased by his wife Margaret "Peggy" Murphy in 2008. He leaves his daughters Laurie Messina of East Windsor, Ct, Susan Parker of Ware, and Elizabeth Bennett of Tuscon, AZ; a son, James S. Murphy Jr of MA; a sister Leona Civita of Fitchburg, MA; five grandchildren Adam Welsh, Melissa Pope, Jason Messina, Kristen Moore and Trevor Bennett; four great grandchildren Courtney, Aidyn, Owen and Brody as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was also predeceased by two grandsons Jeremy and Jonathan Bennett and a sister Irene Dutra.
