Biography

Monson-Jacqueline M. (Lynch) Hatton, 82, died Tuesday August 27, 2013, surrounded by the love of family. She was born March 30, 1931 in Monson to the late Walter and Alma (Johnson) Lynch. Jacqueline was a graduate of Monson High School class of 1948, a graduate of U-Mass and received her Masters Degree in Education from AIC. Mrs. Hatton began her teaching career in Brimfield. She taught 3rd and 4th grades in the Monson School system and held the dual position of Assistant Principal for several years. She also served on the Monson Education Advisory Committee. Mrs. Hatton retired from teaching in Monson after 37 years.

Jacqueline was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, a lifelong resident and active in the town of Monson. She was past president of the Monson Button Club, on the Board of Directors for the Keep Museum and was a member of the Friends of the Keep Museum. Also a member of the Monson Arts Council, Monson Historical Society, and on the Editorial Staff of the Monson 250th anniversary book. Jacquie was a member of the Massachusetts, Connecticut & National Button Clubs.

Jacqueline leaves her loving husband of 62 years, William B. Hatton; their loving daughter Moira Hatton of Stafford Springs, CT; god daughter Deborah (Knight) DaSilva and her family of Ludlow also her brother in-law Richard F. Knight of Monson and nephew Richard P. Knight of Lantana, FL. Jacqueline was predeceased by her infant daughter Holly Ann Hatton and more recently her loving sister Patricia Knight.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2013 beginning at 9:15 from Lombard Funeral Home, with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church, burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery all in Monson. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday September 3, 2013 from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
