Wilbraham -Helene M. Lapointe, passed away on November 25, 2017 at the Lifecare Center of Wilbraham at the age of 84. Known as "Aunt Elaine" to numerous nieces and nephews, she spent her younger years in Chester Vermont, entering the St. Joseph's Convent and graduating from the College of Saint Joseph the Provider in Rutland, with a Major in French and minor in History. For twelve years she taught French and Mathematics in and around Rutland before moving to the Big Apple to experience life in the big city and a career as a purchasing agent for a Metropolitan elder-care facility. Aunt Elaine loved life and enjoyed Broadway, world and local travel, sharing vacations with all of her brothers, sisters and their families.
She taught us beginner French, cooked us exotic foods – and drinks - from her travels and kept us all laughing. After moving back to Massachusetts to be closer to family, Aunt Elaine spent a wonderful time with her many friends at the Monson Senior Center dining, taking part in their drama productions, and winning her first trophy at WII bowling. She is pre-deceased by her two brothers, Donald and Paul, and three sisters, Jackie, Claudette, and Lucille. She leaves to cherish her memories, the families of her brothers and sisters: the Beaudrys, Lapointes, Mayers, and Bourkes. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding level of care and kindness our beloved Aunt enjoyed at Life Care Center of Wilbraham.
