Monson-Helen Klisiewicz, 92, passed peacefully, Wednesday, January 20, 2016, surrounded by the loving and attentive staff of the Jewish Nursing Home of Longmeadow, MA, for which she lived out her final months. Helen was born in Palmer, MA, May 21, 1923 to the late Frank and Veronica (Wytrwal) Borowiec. During her childhood she lived on the family dairy farm in Brimfield, now the home of the Bethany Charismatic Church. Helen graduated from Hitchcock Free Academy, Brimfield. Helen worked various jobs in Palmer, including a ticket girl at the theater, an appliance salesperson, C. F. & I. Wire Mill during the war, Thorndike Mills and retired from the laundry department at Monson Developmental Center. Besides her children, Helen loved gardening, doing crafts, sewing and especially baking.
Helen leaves her son James Klisiewicz; daughters, Susan Klisiewicz and Mary Swierad and her husband Dennis all of Monson; two sister in-laws, Helen Klisiewicz of Monson and Betty Borowiec of Three Rivers,many nieces and nephews. Helen was pre-deceased by her husband Frank Klisiewicz in 2015; her parents and her siblings; Stanley and Frank Borowiec and Sophie Hubert.
Lombard Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Visiting hours will be held Friday, January 22, 2016 beginning at 12:30pm in Lombard Funeral Home 3 Bridge St. Monson. A graveside service will be held at 2pm in Hillcrest Cemetery on Wilbraham Road in Monson. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Monson Fire Department Ambulance Fund PO Box 335 Monson, MA 01057.
