Gregory C Garman

October 30, 1962 — March 7, 2021

Gregory C. Garman, 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Bay State Memorial Hospital, in Springfield, MA, surrounded by the love of his family.  Greg was born on October 30, 1962 to the late Ruth A. (Flemming) and James F. Garman.  He was raised in Morrisonville, NY and graduated from St. John’s High School.  Following graduation Greg began his military career serving his country proudly in the United States Navy.  He first served for five years then re-enlisted in 1989 at the time of the first Gulf War. Throughout his Naval career Greg excelled in computer networking. Greg was deployed on the USS Enterprise, Niagara Falls and Shenandoah.  He was stationed in Norfolk, Guam, Naples, Italy and Bremerton, Washington.

Following his honorable discharge, Greg moved to Monson, MA and was co-owner of Camelot Kennels.  Greg loved all animals – especially dogs -- most notably his miniature collie Lance.  He was also passionate about the ocean and his music 70’s and 80’s classic rock.  He was very intelligent and well read. Greg was also extremely handy. A “Jack of all trades”, there was nothing that he wouldn’t attempt to fix or build.  During the course of his life Greg lived in many places—NY, MA, VA, CO, AZ, MD and his favorite FL.

Greg leaves his beloved daughter, Lyndsey Garman and her mother, Jennifer M. Garman of Monson, MA, a step-daughter Michaela Mills and her husband Michael and their children Emma and Logan of MD, his father James F. Garman and his wife Glenda of AZ, brothers Chris Garman and his wife Pattie of IL, Bill Garman of CO, Mike Garman and his wife Connie of NY, sisters Tammy Williams and her husband Fred of MN, and Laura Follmer and her husband Ernie of NY, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be private.  Per Greg’s request, he will be buried at sea with full military honors.
