Glenn Schwetz

Conway-Glenn M. Schwetz, age 59, of Conway, MA passed away peacefully April 9, 2009. Scholar, poet, athlete, carpenter. Glenn attended Taft Prep School in Watertown CT. He was a varsity hockey player, active in theater, and graduated second in his class. He graduated from Harvard in 1973 Magna Cum Laude/ Phi Beta Kappa. During the 70’s Glenn owned a restaurant in Austin, Texas. In the early 80’s he relocated to Western, MA, where he concentrated on his poetry and other writings. He also pursued his love of woodworking and carpentry. Many local homes benefited from his exceptional skills. In his leisure time, Glenn enjoyed gardening, playing guitar, musical composition, and spending the month of March on Anna Maria Island, Florida… his paradise. In recent years, Glenn was an active member of the Shakespeare Fellowship organization devoted to attributing the works of Shakespeare to Edward d’Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford. Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of Franklin County 329 Conway St. Greenfield, MA 01301 or Compassionate Care ALS PO Box 1052 West Falmouth, MA 02574. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Lombard Funeral Home of Monson was entrusted with the arrangements.
